North-West University (NWU) is a multi-campus public research university in South Africa with campuses in Potchefstroom, Mahikeng, and Vanderbijlpark. It was formed on 1 January 2004 through the merger of the former University of North-West, the Potchefstroom University for Christian Higher Education, and the Sebokeng Campus of Vista University. NWU is ranked among the top ten universities in Africa (QS World University Rankings 2024) and operates across eight faculties serving both contact and distance students.
