The American Film Institute (AFI) is a nonprofit organization based in Los Angeles, California, dedicated to championing the moving image as an art form. Its AFI Conservatory offers a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) program in six filmmaking disciplines and is consistently ranked among the top film schools in the United States. The Conservatory does not offer undergraduate degree programs and admits students only once per year for the fall term.
