Founded in 1883, six years before North Dakota statehood, the University of North Dakota (UND) is the state's flagship public research university located in Grand Forks, North Dakota. UND is known for its programs in aerospace, nursing, engineering, and education, and serves the largest number of exclusively online students among nonprofit flagship universities in the eight-state region.
