Shantou University (STU) is a comprehensive public university founded in 1981 in Shantou, Guangdong Province, China. It is co-developed by the Ministry of Education, the Guangdong Provincial Government, and the Li Ka Shing Foundation, and is notable as the only public university globally continuously subsidized by a private foundation. STU offers programs across liberal arts, sciences, engineering, and medicine, and is known for its medical college (SUMC) which offers an English-medium MBBS program for international students.
