How to take the Duolingo English Test (DET)
The Duolingo English Test can only be purchased at Duolingo's official site. Once you purchase the test, you have 21 days to take it.
You can take the test anytime, anywhere. There are specific rules that you must follow, which ensure that you do not cheat. Most importantly, you need to take the test alone, which is why you need a room that you can use for 1 hour, which is the length of the test.

What you don't need for the Duolingo English Test (DET)
For the DET, you don't need:
- To book a specific time. You can take the test anytime.
- Travel to a test center. You can take the test anywhere.
- Pen and paper. In fact, you are not allowed to have these during the test!
- A lot of time. The test lasts just 1 hour.
- To wait a long time to get results. You will get your results within 48 hours. You can get them within 12 hours if you upgrade to the "Faster Results" option.
